A Message from the Head of Department
The Department of Business Administration is one of the vital and important departments in the College of Administration and Economics at Al-Farabi University, being an essential gateway to understanding the world of business and management in our modern era.
The importance of the department does not stem from teaching students administrative concepts and theories alone; rather, it seeks to build an administrative personality capable of thinking, analysing, taking decisions, and dealing with the problems and challenges that institutions face in the business environment.
During the years of study, the student becomes acquainted with a wide range of sciences and skills associated with management — human resources management, marketing, financial management, operations management, strategic management, entrepreneurship and the digitisation of management, among other fields the labour market requires in both the public and private sectors — in addition to the research knowledge necessary to develop the ability to prepare scientific research, analyse problems and take appropriate decisions. The department is also keen to develop students’ English language skills by teaching a number of courses in English, strengthening their ability to communicate and to understand administrative and academic terminology in English.
Accordingly, broad fields lie open before the graduate of the Department of Business Administration, enabling work in institutions and government departments, companies, banks, factories, and commercial and service institutions, as well as private-sector organisations across their various activities.
More importantly, studying business administration does not make the student merely a job seeker; it grants them the knowledge and skills to become the owner of a project and a maker of opportunity. Through what they learn in the department they can transform an idea into an entrepreneurial venture, plan it, study its feasibility and manage it in a way that creates value for themselves and economic value for society. The department therefore does not prepare the student for a future job alone, but qualifies them to be a leader, a manager, an entrepreneur and a maker of opportunities.
So if the student aspires to enter the world of business, to master the tools of management and leadership, and to build a promising professional future, the Department of Business Administration can be their first step toward that future.
Welcome to the Department of Business Administration — where we prepare knowledge, build skill, and shape the leaders of the future.
